I have mentioned in my healthy food post before that while I love eating clean, I absolutely detest sports – especially running. I was sitting in front of my desk for about 3-4 hours straight 2 days ago, doing some revision for my exams, when I felt my back starting to hurt. This is not uncommon for me, as I have been having back pain since I was really young – but this really got me into thinking how I have not done ANY sort of exercise apart from well… walking since maybe Christmas and if I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and be more productive everyday, I need to actually get out of the house and MOVE.
Feeling super inspired and determined out of a sudden (I have always been a very obsessive person haha – if I want to do something I want to do it immediately – if I see something I like I want to buy it WITHOUT THINKING :P), I decided that I would wake up early in the morning the next day and take the tube to Hyde Park for a little run/walk 🙂
Anddd I did! Yesterday at about 8:30am, I put on my gym clothes and headed out the door for Hyde Park. The feeling was quite amazing 🙂 While I was doing something COMPLETELY random and unplanned, I felt really happy with myself that I took the effort to do something that I have never done before and is good for my body. ♡
For anyone living in London, I would say running in Hyde Park is probably better than running in any gym because it is SO BEAUTIFUL around this time of the year! I tend to feel super bored when I am on the treadmill as I have nothing to look at, but running outdoors especially in a park is quite a different experience! 🙂
Since I have never been a runner and I absolutely hated it, I didn’t expect myself to be able to run for that long and I literally thought that I would feel like dying after 20 seconds! When I ran yesterday the longest time I could go without stopping was about 2 minutes hahaha but then after resting for about 5-6 minutes I could run again! Before I started running I also downloaded the free Nike running app from the app store and although I am not too sure if that is the best thing to use for other people, I found it quite easy to use for me as a beginner 🙂 It basically tracks how long and how far you have been running for, and also your average speed ♡
After the run I just made myself some super delicious fruit infused water (I put lemon, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries inside my water)! ♡
I am definitely planning to run again very soon and I think I will do another post on how my progress is and maybe do a gym/ running outfit post as well! 😀
♡

Thank you dear! 😀 I have had the shoes for about 2 years and they still look brand new! (Although it is probably because I don't do enough exercise to get them dirty! hahaha) <3

I'm exactly the same with running but have recently got into it and did my first 10km in Crystal Palace! I literally could run about two minutes at the start but I did the couch to 5km podcasts and they worked a wonder 🙂

Yay good job on the running!! 😀 And running through Hyde Park sounds so lovely.
PS I am 100% the same in that when I want to do something, I MUST do it as soon as possible haha. I'm very obsessive like that.
