Hi beauties! Today I thought I would do a post on a special category of beauty products – the type of products that I don’t particularly hate, I might even have enjoyed them while they last, but now that their lives have come to an end, I just don’t think I would be repurchasing more and would probably forget about them sooner or later… I picked out 5 products that I have recently used up (or are nearly used up) and I am going to tell you guys what I think about them! 😀
I don’t know what possessed me to buy a £26 shower gel that only lasted me for one month but now that it is empty, I won’t be purchasing more. The shower gel is a truly pampering product, and have a nice sophisticated fruity/ citrusy scent, but for £26, I really expected it to last a lot longer. So while I have enjoyed using this, I won’t be spending my money on another Diptyque shower gel.
♡ 2) Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel ♡
Sticking to the theme of shower gels, I am nearly done with my 500g of Rose Jam shower gel by Lush and this product lasted me for at least 3 months! This might however be the reason why I won’t be getting another one of these because the Rose Jam smell is so strong and honestly after 3 months of using this every single day in the shower I am sick of the scent. I however really liked the scent when I first started using it and the scent is definitely on the extremely sweet side (like a lot of other Lush products). I find that with a lot of strong smelling shower gels, getting sick of the scent is just inevitable (unless you reallyyy like the scent) and so I like to change my shower gel from time to time 🙂
I initially got this dry shampoo while I was in Paris after hearing that Karl Lagerfeld himself uses this product! I personally found this dry shampoo okay, it doesn’t feel that special from any other dry shampoos I have tried and I honestly do not feel the difference that the oatmilk supposedly make. I am also not particularly fond of the scent of this dry shampoo. That being said, I have finished up the 2 bottles of this that I got from Paris and have went back to the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Sugar Melon and Honeysuckle (which I love love love!) So yep – won’t be getting more of the Klorane Dry Shampoo!
Yes… you read that right – no more Touche Éclat for me! I feel like I have a love-hate relationship with this product. I did use this from time to time while it lasted, but I am not sure if it was because I truly liked the product and thought that it worked, or if it was just because it is well – the YSL Touche Éclat, the product that everyone says you would love and swear by and is supposedly a holy grail for highlighting etc. I HONESTLY DO NOT KNOW. If I judge this product without the fancy packaging, the hype and the brand, I probably would have reached for it a lot less. My head might be telling me that I need another tube of this… but my heart is saying NO.
I still cannot believe while I am writing this that I am putting the Bioderma Micelle Solution in my out of sight, out of mind list. For a very long time, this was my holy grail, and I was OBSESSED with it (obsessed as in spending €100+ purely on Bioderma while shopping in Parisian pharmacies so I have enough bottles to last me 2 years kind of obsessed), and I swore by this product for the longest time (as you can see from my favourite skincare products post that I wrote a year ago!) The reason I am now moving on from Bioderma is because a couple weeks ago, I was introduced to a product that is a COMPLETE game changer for me. I was hanging out at my friend Melissa’s place and I forgot to bring my makeup remover and she introduced me to… (drumroll) CLEANSING OILS!
Even though I love Bioderma for taking my makeup off because it does not stink my eyes and you don’t exactly have to rinse your face afterwards if you are feeling lazy, it is not the best makeup remover for taking off waterproof eye makeup, which I wear everyday. While taking my eye makeup off with Bioderma, I usually have to rub my eyes quite a lot and a few lashes would fall off, which I thought wasn’t THAT big of a deal because well, Bioderma works great for the rest of my face. I was blown away by how well cleansing oils (Melissa introduced me to the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil which OMG has to be my new holy grail) work for taking off all my makeup, including the layers of eyeshadows and waterproof mascara and liner after a night out. I am probably going to do another more informative post on cleansing oils but they are the reason why I am saying bye to my long time lover Bioderma!
That was a much longer post than I expected but I hope you enjoyed learning more about my experience with these products! ♡ If you have any products that you first loved but won’t be re-purchasing definitely let me know why and whether you have found something that works better! ♡
