Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at the Sanderson Hotel + OOTD! ♡

April 13, 2015

Yesterday was my best friend Sofie’s 20th birthday and as a birthday gift, our other best friend Melissa and I decided to treat her to the Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at the Sanderson Hotel ♡ While Melissa had been to this afternoon tea countless times before, it was Sofie’s and my first time and we had such a fun experience!

Here is what I wore to the afternoon tea 🙂 I wanted to go with the Alice and Wonderland theme and so I chose a black and white houndstooth patterned dress ♡

Dress: Forever 21
Coat: Burberry
Book Clutch: Kate Spade
Shoes: Fendi
Sunglasses: Dior
The whole vibe of the afternoon tea was amazing and very whimsical – sugar cubes were stored in a musical box and all the teapots and cutleries were Alice in Wonderland themed 🙂 The menu itself was stuck on an antique looking book and all our napkins were wrapped with a riddle with the answer underneath! ♡
The food was also pretty amazing 🙂 All the sandwiches and scones were refillable and both sweet and savoury scones were served which is uncommon! We tried all the tea choices available – Apple Pie, Mint Chocolate, Strawberry and Cream, Rhubarb and Custard – all of which we found delicious. At the end of our afternoon tea, the staff surprised us with a birthday dessert for Sofie since they heard us mention when we arrived that it was her birthday 😀
I have tried other afternoon teas in London before (Fortnum & Mason, W Hotel etc.) and I must say this is one of my favourite afternoon tea experiences 😀 I definitely cannot wait to return to Sanderson again for the afternoon tea! ♡
