2015 has been a year of trying out Asian makeup and skincare products for me. As 2016 arrives, I can safely say that there are certain products that will continue to stick around in my makeup bag in the new year as they have definitely earned a place in my heart in 2015
The DHC Cleansing Oil has been my go to makeup remover throughout 2015 and it does just what I need it to do every time. No rubbing my eyes to get that stubborn waterproof mascara off, no stinking sensation, just a squeaky clean and smooth face with all your makeup melted off after a gentle rub I have been using the DHC Cleansing Oil religiously with the Heroine Make (Kiss Me) Mascara Remover aka. the holy grail of all eye makeup remover. The smart packaing of the mascara remover (in a mascara style wand) makes taking off waterproof mascara as easy as applying it. Also on my best of 2015 list are the Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil and the Heavy Rotation (Kiss Me) angled powder eyebrow pencil. The Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil is perfect for getting that precise, brows-on-fleek look, while the Heavy Rotation pencil is ideal for creating those soft and natural looking everyday eyebrows.
The Shiseido eyelash curler is one that I have been using for years and is pretty much the only eyelash curler I trust putting near my eyeballs The quality of the curler is amazing and I have never had any problems with it not giving me the eyelash curls I want Speaking of eyelashes, the Kate Lash Maximiser (White) is a phenomenal primer for getting those extra long and full-looking lashes. Its super light formula holds my lashes up like no other primer ever had and even helps mascaras that usually never hold my lashes up stay up!
Moving back to skincare, the Laneige Water Sleeping mask has been the one that I reach for whenever I am on planes or when my face is needing that extra bit of moisture. The fact that you don’t have to take it off before you sleep is perfect for lazy people like me and I love the feeling of waking up with my skin feeling plump and hydrated. The Shiseido Moilip is a product that my aunt picked up for me during her trip to Japan and is an ultra powerful lipbalm that almost works as a lip medicine for those with seriously chapped and dry lips. I have constantly been reaching for it during the cold winter months and love how well and fast it works for healing dry lips.
I have saved the best product in 2015 for last and it is the La Funi tinted lipbalm in red! I have already majorly stocked up on these while I am here in Hong Kong to bring back to London with me as I can foresee the sadness and panic it would cause me if I run out and am unable to find it in the UK. This is my holy grail lip product and I can confidently say this is what I wear 99% of the time on my lips. The tinted red colour comes off beautifully and is longlasting, the lipbalm is really moisturing, and look at that packaging! The fact that it is in a cute little egg shape is enough to make me want to carry it everywhere with me (and I do)!
So there are my top products in 2015! I can’t wait to be trying more new products in 2016 and will give my opinions on those when I do
