My Go-To Summer Fragrances 2016 ☀

As summertime rolls around, I have become completely and utterly obsessed with fragrances in an unhealthy way. It all started with the Jo Malone consultation I did 2 months ago with one of my besties (I need to shut up about this Jo Malone consultation already because I have mentioned it wayyy too many times – but it was so goodddd! :P) which caused me to pick up two new Jo Malone fragrances and it also completely reignited my fragrance obsession, which started out strong when I began Uni and faded gradually along with the effort I put into the clothes I wear to uni (yoga pants did you say?) as I progressed from year one to my final year :/

I used to be the type of person who would wear one signature scent all year round and would not switch to a new perfume until the old one is completely used up – well, not anymore! Throughout the past few years I have found myself matching different scents with the different seasons of the year and I would also wear different scents according to the weather or how I feel – which is why I now have 5 fragrances that I LOVE and would recommend for Summer this year! 🙂

1) Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey
A super sweet and fruity scent that smells like peaches and fruits 🙂 Perfect for the Summer and for those of you who LOVE sweet and girly scents ♡ I find this to be one of the girliest scents out of the entire Jo Malone range but is still really fresh and non-offensive. I love wearing this on its own during Spring and now that it is Summer I love pairing this with Jo Malone Nasturtium and Clover for an even fresher and greener scent ♡

2) Tom Ford Shimmering Body Oil
This is not exactly a fragrance but is so strongly perfumed that I love wearing it as a fragrance in the Summer. This scent is something I would describe as coconut and tropical fruits put into a fragrance in a really sophisticated ‘Tom Ford’ way (if that even makes sense haha!). The shimmers in the oil also give a really natural-looking sun-kissed and glowing look to the skin and is really light-weight and comfortable to wear <3 I purchased this shimmering oil last Summer to wear on my Barcelona trip which turned out to be one of my favourite trips ever 🙂 Now whenever I wear this scent, it takes me straight back to the sunny Barcelona days – walking on pretty streets, eating fresh seafood and sipping on Sangria <3 Needless to say this is my go-to vacation scent that screams Summer more than anything else to me! ♡

3) Jo Malone Nasturtium & Clover

This is a scent from Jo Malone’s the Herb Garden collection which was released in Spring this year and is my FAVOURITE scent to wear at the moment. The best way I can describe it is a fresh grassy scent that is also sweet and flowery at the same time that smells like a garden or a field filled with fresh grass and blooming flowers ♡ I usually don’t go for fresh citrusy scents at all because I love strong sweet scents but for some reason I am just incredibly obsessed with this fragrance and cannot stop wearing it ever since I got my hands on it. I love that this scent is not strikingly fresh and is still sweet to a certain extent and I also LOVE pairing this with Nectarine Blossom and Honey for an even sweeter (but still fresh and grassy) scent 🙂 This is the fragrance I am planning on taking with me for my NYC trip next week and I would probably be also wearing this throughout my Berlin and Copenhagen trip after I am back in Europe from the States ♡

4) Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
I got this perfume when I was last in Paris at the Duty-Free Eurostar terminal so I got it for slightly cheaper than the normal retail price 🙂 This is definitely a girly scent that has floral, fruity and citrusy notes in it. I bought this back in Autumn a few years back and for some reason really did not like reaching for this during that time of the year because I found the scent a little too fresh to use for the cold winter months. I however love reaching for this during summertime because it is fresh but still sweet and romantic and I would describe this as the fragrance I would wear if I am wearing a girly dress and white sandals for a stroll in the City on a sunny day (picture that hehe) ♡

5) Aquolina Pink Sugar
This is definitely the sweetest scent out of the five and is a sickly sweet caramel scent that smells just like sweets and cotton candy without a hint of freshness in it. You would probably HATE this scent if you are not into strong sickly sweet scents at all or LOVE if you like extremely sweet and girly scents like me haha! I especially love wearing this when it is raining outside and the weather is slightly chilly on Summer nights because the sweet caramel scent warms me up and I find that wearing fresher scents in the rain and wind can sometimes make me feel extra chilly and uncomfortable (is it only me or does anyone out there feel the same haha). For the same reason, I think this scent would be perfect for all year round as well, but I do love wearing this during the Summer <3
