Hi everyone! ♡ Sorry for being extremely MIA lately but I am slowly catching up with blog posts (especially my travel diaries which I have been wanting to post since the start of Summer) and hope you all will bear with me during this super busy start-of-the-school-year period ♡
I am back today with a travel diary for my 2-day Paris trip with Ros – my oldest partner in crime 😛 She was visiting me in London for a week and we decided to make a short trip to Paris and relive our school trip to Paris from years ago 😀
We took the Eurostar from London and arrived Paris shortly. Since we were really hungry after our train ride, we decided to head to Au Vieux for lunch after dropping our bags at our hotel 🙂
Au Vieux was super pretty during the Summer with branches and leafs entwining the entire restaurant ♡ We enjoyed our lunch in the sun (although I must say – it was BOILING HOT that day and we probably should have picked a table inside haha) and chatted with the restaurant staff while ordering our food 🙂
I ordered the chicken while Ros ordered the beef (both were nice although I liked my chicken better), and we started our tour around the city as soon as we finished our food 🙂
The weather was unbeatable, if not a little too hot! We made our way across River Seine, passing by the Notre Dame ♡
After crossing River Seine, we ended up in front of Shakespeare and Company, and decided that it was only appropriate to stop and have some ice-cream 😀 I had the strawberry and pistachio flavours and they were heavenlyyyy ♡
After devouring our ice-cream, we took the metro to Saint Germain des Prés to do some French pharmacy skincare shopping! City Pharma is where I stock up on my skincare necessities every time I am in Paris because I find that they have the biggest range of stock as well as the best prices 🙂 This time, I ended up with 6 bottles of Bioderma micellar water; 2 bottles of Melvita rose water; backups of my Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré as well as my Nuxe Crème Fraiche de Beauté. Hopefully, these will last me more than 6 months! ♡
After our skincare adventure, we headed to Café de Flore for some early dinner ♡ It was boiling hot that day, but I insisted on ordering my favourite hot chocolate in the world haha 😛 I am a massive hot chocolate addict and have tried just about any sort of hot chocolate I could get my hands on, but I have found the most amazing hot chocolate in Café de Flore a few years back when I visited for the first time 🙂 As a matter of fact, I was so obsessed that I did a blogpost on it at the time (it was one of my earliest blog posts ever so I apologise for the bad picture quality hehe) ♡
The hot chocolate definitely did not fail to impress me this time around and Ros and I gulped the whole thing down regardless of the Summer heat.
After dinner, we had an evening stroll around Saint Germain des Prés, which is admittedly my favourite area in Paris 🙂 It is such a classy neighbourhood and is extremely Parisian; all the shops in the area also make it a fabulous shopping spot ♡
On the next day, we woke up to a beautiful Parisian balcony view from our hotel room and got ready to head out to enjoy Paris a little bit more before we had to head back to London 🙂 We also happened to have woken up to the news that Britain had voted to opt out of the EU, which was a funny feeling given that we were in Paris haha.
The first place we decided to visit was surprise surprise – Champs-Élysées! ♡ I had been craving for the Nutella crepes from Café George V for a while and definitely wanted to take Ros there 🙂 We got out of the metro and was welcomed by the Arc de Triomphe, and decided we had to take some touristy shots 😀
Outfit details:
On me:

We then made our way to Café George V for some lunch (and of course – nutella crepes!) 😀
While we were having lunch, we met an extremely nice and cute AND elegantly dressed old lady sitting at the table right beside us and we started chatting (with our very limited French from taking French classes for 3 years back in high school haha) ♡ We complimented her on the perfume she was wearing and she told us that it is from Guerlain and wrote down the name of the perfume on a napkin for us 🙂 When we finished our food, we parted ways with the old lady and made our way to Guerlain down the street, napkin in hand 😛
The Guerlain store on Champs-Élysées is GORGEOUS ♡ We were moving across their makeup section when a Guerlain staff suddenly asked if we would like a complimentary makeover! We said yes and were sat down at their makeup counters – and the makeovers began 😛
I have to say – I honestly didn’t feel like I look that different AT ALL after the makeover (except a little more bronzed haha) but the whole process was such an entertaining experience! The makeup artist, to start with, was really funny and seemed super enthusiastic to do our makeup haha. I also loved the way he applied bronzer on Ros’ and my skin – he used the lightest hand ever to do circular sweeps and the bronzer came out looking super natural and effortless 🙂
Before and After lol! (aka. spot the difference…) ♡
After our interesting Guerlain makeover experience, we headed to Sephora for a browse, and then decided to get some macaroons from Ladurée to munch on; on our way back to the hotel ♡ We still had a tiny bit of time left and decided to visit one last spot – the Eiffel Tower 😀 We walked along Champs-Élysées until we reached the riverside where we were able to get a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower 🙂
After taking in the beautiful Parisian view, it was time for us to head back to London 🙁 Although we only had less than 48 hours in Paris, we had the best time ever as well as some really interesting experiences hehe ♡ The beautiful people in Paris also never fail to impress me with their kindness and I truly believe that one can never get bored of this city! ♡
I hope you have enjoyed this travel diary and I’m so sorry again for the lack of posts! I have so many more exciting blog posts lined up and I cannot wait for you to read them soon ♡ If you have been to Paris, let me know what are some of your favourite places and restaurants to go to in the city 😀 They will definitely be added to my ‘must visit’ list the next time I am back in Parieee 😀
