Hello blog friends!! 🙂 It’s been SO LONG since I’ve done a post – let alone a TRAVEL one!
If you read my last post, you’d know that I travelled to the UK last year for a month-long trip. The travel experience was a real pain as we were required to do 21 days of hotel quarantine upon arriving back in Hong Kong (*sobs* 😥).
When travel restrictions eased back in May this year, we took the opportunity to travel to Singapore for my boyfriend Peron’s brother’s wedding (woohooo)! We ended up staying in Singapore for around 9 days and had loads of fun 🙂 Here’s what we got up to while we were there!

We stayed at the Fraser Residence Orchard, a serviced apartment that I found online for the majority of our trip. I loved the serviced apartment as it was in a pretty central location and the facilities were great! Our cute little studio came with Malin + Goetz shower products (one of my faves!) and a huge bathtub 😍
Breakfast was included every day and we got to spend some time in the pools (they had 2 huge ones!) under the sun 🌞 There were also loads of outdoor spaces with greenery (perfect for having breakfast / taking walks) and all in all I found it to be a really relaxing place to stay.

We spent day one in Singapore walking around the Orchard and Somerset neighbourhoods and WOW was it HOT 😰 It was late May and temperatures were reaching 33°C during daytime – we were completely drenched in sweat 5 minutes into our walk! 😂
We eventually reached Somerset and found a cute brunch place called the Assembly Ground. Had a quick refuel of iced chocolate and mango lassi (which definitely helped with the heat haha) and yummy food!
It was time to get ready for the wedding dinner so Peron and I took an Uber back to our serviced apartment (no more walking in the heat thank goodness 😅).
The wedding dinner was set in Empress, a beautiful modern restaurant at the Asian Civilisations Museum 😍

Steven and Lin’s wedding was perfect! They met when Steven moved to Singapore for work and the rest was history 💘 We watched the beautiful couple march in and laughed our way through Peron’s speech! Some of Peron’s family also flew over to Singapore all the way from the UK and it was so good to have everyone together.

We woke up the next day and decided to have afternoon tea at one of the most iconic hotels in Singapore – Raffles Hotel!

We were seated in the gorgeous hotel lobby, where we waited for our afternoon tea set to arrive…

Anddd here it is!
Scones, sandwiches and sweet treats – pretty much my favourite things in life haha 😝 I am quite particular when it comes to tea and unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of the tea that I first chose. I mentioned it to the waiting staff and he was super nice and switched it out for me immediately :’) A+ for the service!

We were having our afternoon tea when we noticed a fancy-looking room right by the side of the lobby. A hotel staff saw us glancing at the room and asked if we would like to go over to take a look.
Turned out the “room” was actually a restaurant called the Tiffin Room, which serves some of the best Indian food in the city!

We were way too full from our afternoon tea to go for second rounds at Tiffin Room, but will definitely be coming back to try it whenever we are in Singapore again!
Raffles Hotel is truly stunning. Can’t get over this show-stopping chandelier hanging in the middle of the lobby…

And the beautiful outdoor areas! I mean… look at this gorgeous water fountain.

We strolled by the incredible outdoor garden area where we found lots of different herbs, spices and greens planted by the hotel. I love the smell of pandan so it was wonderful to walk by the pandan leaves 😋

That pretty much sums up our short but sweet visit to the beautiful Raffles Hotel!
Will leave the rest of our Singapore trip for Part 2 (and maybe Part 3)! Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned!! 😊
