Hi y’all and Happy April! ♡ I thought I would do a beauty post this week now that it is finallyyyy Spring in London! ❀ I am so glad that the days are getting longer (aka. bright skies while I am writing this at 6:45pm at night :D) and I am so excited that the Summer months are finally creeping up on us! ☀
Starting off with candles, I have been putting my wintery scents aside (Tree House from Byredo was my fav during the colder months but I just don’t feel the urge to light it anymore) and have been loving Roses from Diptyque ♡ Roses is a slightly fresher rose scent compared to Red Roses from Jo Malone – which makes me gravitate towards it a little more during Springtime.
I have also been reaching out for the Kate lash primer 🙂 This is one of my favourite Asian drugstore makeup products out there and it helps my mascara hold up my lashes really well! I will definitely be adding this to my everyday makeup routine when it gets hotter towards the Summer months.
Speaking of long-lasting makeup – I have been introduced to these cream blushes from Canmake not too long ago by my cousin who lives in Hong Kong and these are THE most pigmented and long-lasting blushes I have ever used in my life! I would put this on in the morning at 7am and I kid you not – I will still have my blush perfectly on by 11pm at night (what is this sorcery HAHAHA) :O
The prices for these are unbeatable as well! Definitely the best Japanese drugstore blushes out there so try them out if you can get a hold of them! (^v^)/
Fragrance-wise, I have been rotating between these 3 perfumes from Jo Malone on a day-to-day basis 🙂 I tend to use Peony & Blush Suede all-year round, but I don’t really reach for Nasturtium & Clover (a scent from Spring 2016) and Nectarine Blossom & Honey at all during the colder months because they are a little too fresh for my liking during that time of the year.
These 3 are perfect however during Spring and I find that they also go super well together when I mix and wear two of them at the same time <3
Also, I finally caved in and purchased the Ambient Lighting Powder from Hourglass in “Diffused Light” to use as my setting powder when Space NK had their get £15 off your £60 purchase offer (as a matter of fact – I think they are doing the exact same offer RIGHT NOW so head to their website quickly before it ends!) 😀
I have been liking it so far because it gives a very subtle and pretty glow to my complexion and “Diffused Light” is the perfect shade for my pale Asian skin tone because it is slightly more yellow-toned than the other Ambient Lighting Powders. I would definitely recommend this if you want to use one of the Ambient Lighting Powders as a setting powder!
On a side note, this super cute rose gold kabuki brush from KIKO’s new Summer 2.0 collection also deserves a special mention 😀 I recently picked this up after seeing it in store and feeling how incredibly SOFT it is and have been using this with my Ambient Lighting Powder ♡ I usually use my MAC kabuki brush for setting powders but this KIKO brush is twice as cheap and is also a little bigger and not as dense, which is great for when I want a more natural look 🙂
Another one of my go-to for Spring is my Wander Beauty On-the-Glow Blush and Illuminator stick ♡ I have mentioned this product several times before but I still love it and reach for it because of how convenient it is 😀 I don’t use the blush side as often anymore ever since I have discovered the amazing Canmake cream blushes, but I still use the illuminator side and find it super pretty and perfect for a natural makeup look ♡
And last but not least – my favourite skincare item lately happens to be these face masks from LOVEMORE <3 I find these to be one of the best drugstore Asian face masks out there because they are really good and high quality for their prices ♡ I especially love the Loofah & Aloe Vera series because they are perfect for hydrating my super dry skin, which is in some major need of TLC during this time of the year when the weather is constantly changing!
And that’s it for my Spring beauty staples! Let me know what are some of your must-haves for Spring – I would love to add some of them on to my shopping list (as if I don’t already have enough!) 😛 I hope you have enjoyed this beauty post and I will be back with another travel post next Sunday (It will be a Germany travel post! :D) <3 In the meantime – I am off to Prague in a few days’ time and have a fabulous April everyone! ♡
