I’M BACK! Life Update: Moving from London to Hong Kong and blogging again

I’M BACK!!! I can’t quite believe it but after nearly 3 years, I’m back here in my happy little bubble on the internet!

So much has happened in the past 3 years or so and I can’t quite believe how much things have changed. Well, for a start I graduated 4 years of law school in London, went job-hunting there for a while, before deciding to move back to Hong Kong where I’ve been working for the past 2 years. I packed up my entire life and moved out of my spacious one-bedroom apartment in East London which I lived in all by myself, and moved right back into my little room at my parents’ home in Hong Kong. When I left London, I also got out of my 5-year+ relationship with a boy I met in the UK, and found new love in Hong Kong in the most unexpected way!

To say that things have really changed is an understatement haha. I almost feel like my life in London was a lifetime ago now. Moving back to Hong Kong was hard because I have always thought that I would stay in London for pretty much the rest of my life, and it took me a good year or so to get used to the idea that I am back in Hong Kong for good and am here to stay. I think I now know what people mean when they say your twenties are all about dealing with uncertainties, making mistakes and finding your way through life. But now that I am back in this city, I can’t help but feel so incredibly happy and thankful that I am once again surrounded by my amazing family and friends here. Hong Kong has been treating me so well ever since I moved back.

All the fun things in Hong Kong – weekend brunch, workout classes, staycation…

Back to more about this blog hehe. When I started this platform I was in a very different stage in life. I was 18, just started uni in London, and quite frankly I had nothing but time on my hands! This blog was pretty much my online diary where I talked just about anything I wanted to, e.g. my travels as a uni student, and life in London in general! Fast forward 6 years, I am now turning 25 in exactly 2 months’ time, have a full time job, live in Hong Kong as a 9-6 (if I’m lucky) employee, and sadly no longer have the time or freedom that I had as an 18-year-old to travel the world or do whatever I want to.
As part of my job, I have 3 months of leave coming up soon before I start my new role in October again, and I had planned to use these 3 months to travel. With this crazy COVID-19 pandemic going on, all my travel plans have obviously been thrown out of the window. So I guess by some strange act of fate, I am once again left with nothing but time on my hands! I want to use these 3 months to do something that I really love and this blog immediately came to mind.

Blogging in Hong Kong feels so different from blogging in London and I am not sure what I will be posting on here yet. There are loads of travel posts still in my draft folder that I haven’t published and I hope I will get around to doing that soon. I guess the theme (or more like the lack thereof lol) of this blog should mainly stay the same – i.e. a bit of everything (travels, lifestyle, wellness (on the rare occasion that I feel fit and motivated hahaha), life in general, other random stuff I want to talk about etc. etc. HAHA). I’ll try my best to stick to posting frequently this time around and share more of my life in Hong Kong! ^O^
