A few days ago, my bff Issie and I went on a fun girly staycation together and it was heavenly!
Plenty of hotels in Hong Kong are doing staycation/ spa/ dining deals and discounts in light of COVID, and we decided to make the most out of it.
We started our staycation with a visit to the spa at the Peninsula Hotel…
where we were welcomed by delicious hot ginger tea and cold towels infused with aromatherapy oils.
The reception of the spa is gorgeous and so incredibly zen – the most perfect place for a much-needed escape from reality.
We were led to the changing rooms where neatly laid out bath robes and slippers waited for us…
Before being escorted to a secret lift that brought us to the massage area.
The most beautiful welcome area greeted us as we stepped out of the lift.
The kind staff brought us to a relaxation room where we waited for our masseurs, who then guided us to our separate massage rooms.
Issie and I both opted for a 90 minutes aromatherapy massage, and oh my was it divineeee!
After asking a few general questions about my health and well-being, my masseur proceeded to help me choose my massage oil.
A few minutes into my massage and I was in total zen heaven.
Our massages ended (too quickly haha) and we popped back into the relaxation room for more downtime.
Fresh fruits, juices and water were available in the relaxation room for guests to enjoy.
Issie and I got some fruits, climbed onto the relaxation beds, and plugged in the headphones provided on the beds for some spa music.
We were starting to get a little hungry when we decided that we should check out the jacuzzi in the changing rooms before we head off for lunch.
And boy are we glad we did!
The changing rooms are beautiful – traditional, elegant and very well-kept.
We left the Peninsula spa feeling incredibly pampered and relaxed, and headed next door to K11 Artus for our staycay!
The K11 Artus market themselves as a luxury, art-inspired hotel / service apartments with hotel services.
We arrived at 3pm and to our shock, our room wasn’t ready. The staff kindly offered to upgrade us from our studio to a one-bedroom apartment, but it would still be a bit of a wait until we get to check in…
So we decided to head down to the mall for some food. We also took the opportunity to grab some of our favourite wines and cheeses from the supermarket while we waited.
A couple of hours later and it was finally time to check in!
Our apartment did not disappoint. We had stunning views of the Victoria Harbour (although partially blocked by the notable InterContinental Hotel).
And we spent the entire night doing what we love the most – drinking champagne, eating cheese, watching Bridget Jones and laughing away!
We woke up to grey skies the next morning…
which to our relief swiftly turned into blue skies as we made our way to the hotel’s infinity pool.
Dipping our toes in the pool and baking under the 30c heat…
before heading back to our apartment to enjoy lunch while we waited for our afternoon tea set to arrive.
Sending an afternoon tea set up to guests’ rooms/ apartments for them to enjoy in private is a cute concept.
And K11 Artus offers just that (alas with a hefty price tag).
Food in the afternoon tea set was mediocre at best, but more importantly it was extremely gram-friendly haha.
We had more wine and watched Wild Child (the obsession with English rom-coms is real), before realising it was sadly time to pack up.
It was definitely a spa experience and staycation to remember!
